They felt betrayed. They had invested in this man. They had believed in this man. They had gotten their hopes up that this was the One who should come into the world! Their expectations of Jesus were dashed when He told them He had not come to fulfill their goals. He had come for a higher purpose: to do to will of God.

Jesus had disappointed them in a big way. He had failed them - or so they thought. So they walked away angry. And Judas allowed that anger to fester until Satan was able to exploit it and use him to put Jesus on the cross.

The strength of your faith is exposed when God fails to meet your expectations.
